Biggest Fish
Whale sharks are the biggest fish in the sea. They can grow up to 12 m long, with mouths up to 1.5 m wide. They gather at Ningaloo between March and May to feed on the rich plankton fuelled by the reef. They effortlessly filter millions of litres of seawater with their massive mouths to gather miniature animals and coral spawn.
